Our Goal: To Build A Six Court Pickleball Center in Ironton, MN
In cooperation with the City of Ironton, Minnesota, the Cuyuna Lakes Pickleball Association (CLPA) built a six court pickleball center for recreational and competitive play. As the sport continues to grow here and across the nation, we feel such a facility will accomplish a number of important anchor points:
- Provide a safe and attractive facility for the growing numbers of people of all ages and abilities – to enjoy an outdoor sport fostering fitness, fun and social interaction.
- The sport of pickleball is extremely inexpensive requiring only a paddle, some balls, and court shoes – that’s it and you are ready to play!
- This facility attracts players from the entire area and beyond. Players currently come from over 50 miles away to play with us.
- The word of this pickleball center has spread very quickly – drawing folks into town to play, to visit local businesses and bolster local economy.
The pickleball center is located behind the Ironton Post Office, just north of Hwy 210, at the corner of 3rd St. and Winona Ave.
The cost for this construction was approximately $175,000. The city provided the property and we raised all the monies for Phase One of this project, so thank you all for your continued support!
