Our Goal is to Build A Six Court Pickleball Center in Ironton, MN
In cooperation with the City of Ironton, Minnesota, the Cuyuna Lakes Pickleball Association (CLPA) is planning to build a six court pickleball center for recreational and competitive play. As the sport continues to grow here and across the nation, we feel such a facility will accomplish a number of important anchor points:
- Provide a safe and attractive facility for the growing numbers of people of all ages to enjoy an outdoor sport which fosters fitness and social interaction.
- The sport of pickleball is extremely inexpensive requiring only a paddle, some balls, and tennis shoes – that’s it and you are ready to play!
- This facility will attract players from the entire area. Players currently come from over 40 miles away to play.
- The word of this pickleball center will spread very quickly, drawing folks into town to play and subsequently visit local businesses.
Below is a schematic of the proposed facility we envision behind the Post Office and other businesses, just north of Hwy 210 at the corner of 3rd St. and Winona Ave, Ironton, MN. This is not exactly to scale, but gives an aerial view of the land, which is currently vacant and part of a parks area in Ironton.
The cost for this construction is approximately $125,000. The city donated the property and we need to raise all the monies for this project, so please be generous with your support!
